Gate entry system
In September, 2024, The Shores at Rainbow Lake installed a new gate entry system from ButterflyMX.
Instead of clickers and keypads, we now use RFID tags with RFID scanners at all three gates, and a 12" touch pad color video intercom at the main gate. The ButterflyMX app on your smartphone can be used to as a remote control, or to create time-restricted 6 digit numeric codes and QR codes for visitors, tenants, contractors, or delivery people. Clickers will continue to work.
Every owner was provided 2 free RFID tags per lot owned. Additional tags are available by completing an order form in the Forms section of this website. Additional tags are $10 each. You may pay in the Payments section of this website or Trish will add the fee to your Shores account, just let her know.
To use the video intercom:
- Touch the Welcome screen to begin.
- Choose Directory to look up an owner by name and initiate a video call.
- Choose Delivery if you are a delivery person with a single use delivery code.
- Choose Virtual Pass if an owner has sent you a Virtual Pass that gives you access on specific days and at specific times.
To use the ButterflyMX app to create entry codes for visitors, renters, delivery people, etc.:
- Our property manager is creating codes for drivers who visit the community regularly....UPS, FedEx, USPS, Waste Management, Atomic Pest Control, It's Magic Landscaping, etc. Owners do not need to do anything about these.
- Virtual Passes are used for temporary access to the community, such as a housekeeper, tenants, a friend who is visiting, a realtor if you list your house for sale. There are 5 basic types of Virtual Passes, which you will find on the Virtual Pass screen on the app.
- Delivery passes are single use codes you can give to a food delivery person, a truck driver delivering furniture, etc. They are valid for 30 days, but can only be used one time. Once used, they are automatically disabled.
Please note: all visitors must enter through the main gate. The middle and back gates are owner entry only.
